Riley had his first post-op visit with Dr. Tarnoff today. He thought that Riley looked good, and he wasn't able to hear anything when listening to his chest that would cause him concern. He did not need a chest x-ray or an echocardiogram. We are returning in two weeks and we'll have the echo then. The echo should allow Dr. Tarnoff to analyze the fluid around Riley's heart and the chylous situation.
Dr. Tarnoff discontinued the captopril and prescribed lisinopril instead. This is beneficial because lisinopril is taken only once/day which means we're back to the twice daily medicine time.
Riley had his stitches removed - all three drainage tube stitches and the two stitches in his right wrist from the long-term IV. His surgical scar is healing extremely well, in some parts it is already starting to look as faint as his original scar.
