In the cath lab now

We just left Riley in the capable and caring hands of Clark, our favorite cath lab nurse. They gave him versed and fentanyl and he drifted off while watching Thomas the Tank Engine on the portable DVD player. Since Riley is having surgery tomorrow, they're going to do the full cath workup in addition to the stent procedure. They estimate he'll be there for 3-5 hours, so finishing as late as 9pm. He'll recover in the PICU and probably spend the night there.

Riley will be NPO as of midnight with clear fluids until 5am. They'll come get him for surgery at about 7:30am tomorrow. Of course, if he becomes feverish after the cath (which sometimes happens) this could delay surgery for a day or two.

I'm praying for you all. Is versed the one that makes them forget? Any chance they would give the parents a dose of that?
